Sebastian Fraccari was born, raised, and is based in Brooklyn, New York. He had been interested in international relations and journalism since high school. Before this, however, Sebastian was into music, playing violin for over a decade. He has worked and played with The Noel Pointer Foundation in Bed-Stuy, playing notable venues such as Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall last spring. In 2023, He worked as a teaching assistant at the Brooklyn Music School.
Sebastian has nearly achieved a bachelor's degree in political science and media studies from CUNY Hunter College. At Hunter, He was a Roosevelt Scholar for public policy and interned with Manhattan Community Board 8 in the fall of 2023. There, Sebastian was presented with the possibility of working hands-on with local government, attending community board meetings, and engaging with his colleagues. Sebastian also interned with the New York City office of U.S. Senator Charles Schumer in the spring of 2024. He was responsible for processing and directing constituents' complaints, inquiries, and concerns to the proper government agencies and resources.
Moreover, he was the creative director of the Hunter College Olivetree, overseeing the development and design of the upcoming 40th Anniversary edition. As a writer for The Athenian and Journalism Department Newsletter, Sebastian gained experience writing about stories and issues of the everyday at Hunter. At the same time, the Hunter Political Journal gave him a taste of opinion and political writing. He has also developed a love for broadcast production while working at Hunter News Now and expanded his video production skills through shows like the Triple Threat Demo.
Sebastian was part of the New York Collegiate Institute for Career Development. As part of the Institute for Responsible Citizenship, he was able to network with other successful African-American entrepreneurs, activists, and businessmen. He has also become a 2024 T-Howard Foundation Final Talent Pool Member for networking and internship opportunities and received the 2025 Jack Newfield Scholarship in investigative reporting.
Sebastian hopes to explore multimedia journalism and design. Thus, he is learning to combine pictures, audio, and the written word. He strives to create fresh, dynamic, and vibrant multimedia that is informational and fun to engage with. Sebastian intends to use his political background in tandem with his work in media to illuminate stories of a diverse array of people.
